Conditions for participation for the event
“From Fiction to Science @ IAA 2017”
Organizer is Continental AG

Registration. By submitting your registration for the event you agree to accept and abide by the following conditions for participation. The event is open to everyone who is at least 18 years of age*. Participation in the event is free of charge. The organizer may refuse registration/application for the event without giving reasons.
* You have to be at least 18 years old to apply for participation.

Participation deadline. The deadline for application is on the 6th August 2017 at 11.59 p. m.

Instructions. You must follow the instructions of the organizer and the staff and observe all corresponding information at all times during the event. In case you breach the rules, or if technical means or other manipulative aids are deployed, the organizer will reserve the right of exclusion.

Publication. As participant you agree to publication of photographs, footage and interviews related to your participation by or on behalf of the organizer without any payment (e.g. on the radio or television, in print and online media, books, etc.) without any time limits or geographical limits or otherwise.

Data Protection. You agree that your registration data will be collected, electronically processed and stored by or on behalf of the organizer and will be used by or on behalf of the organizer exclusively for purposes of implementing the event. The data will not be forwarded to third parties. More information: Data Security.

Equipment. All data sets, hardware, software and other equipment made available to you by the organizer during or in connection with the event remain the sole and exclusive property of the organizer and shall be returned to him at the end of the event.

Ideas and Work Results. By your participation in the event you confirm that you are the author of the idea(s) submitted and that no rights of third parties whatsoever exist in regard to your submissions. The copyrights and the rights of use shall remain with you. Should a third party nonetheless file a claim in account of infringement of their rights and should such an infringement be the result of intentional or grossly negligent conduct on your part, you will be liable for any and all damages that the organizer suffers as a consequence.
You agree to share your ideas with all others at the event. The organizer does not accept any responsibility to protect your ideas, works and results disclosed or generated during the event. You acknowledge and agree that the organizer or other participants or third parties may have developed or commissioned ideas, works or results which are similar to your submissions, or may develop something similar in the future. You waive any claims that you may have against the organizer resulting from any submissions similar to yours.

Liability. The organizer accepts no liability for legal and/or material defects. The organizer is not liable for any personal injury, damage to property or economic loss that occurs in connection with the event, unless the loss or damage was the result of willful intent or gross negligence (intentionally or through negligence in cases of personal injury) by legal representatives or by anyone acting on behalf of the organizer, such as agents and persons engaged in the performance of its obligations.

Contest. Each task force is designed as a challenge. The evaluation criteria depend on the respective task force and will be communicated to the participants beforehand. All winners will receive an Amazon voucher per task force worth 250 €. In addition to that, 4 trips (for one person each) to the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas will be raffled among all winners. The prize includes one overnight stay in a double room at a hotel selected by Continental and the costs to/from Frankfurt am Main. Transportation to and from Frankfurt am Main must be organized by the winner himself. Cash payment or an exchange of the prizes as well as transfer of the prizes to other persons is not possible

Exclusion from participation. Employees of the Continental Group (including subsidiaries) as well as the staff of all selling specialized companies, except Interns and Working students, are not eligible to participate in the event.

Accomodation. The Continental AG assumes the travel costs for all participants in a maximum amout of 200 Euro. A reimbursement of the costs take place after the event and requires the original invoices (e.g. train oder plain tickets). Furthermore, the hotel rooms for participants, including breakfast, made available by Continental. Catering for the participants is provided while the Continental Missions take place.
